Buffelgrass Pull – Pima Canyon

We are going to hike about 1/2 mile on Pima Trail and then we will cut up-slope off trail into the desert for about another 1/2 mile. We will use digging bars and rock hammers to pull buffelgrass from the Sonoran Desert. If you are interested, please contact Julia Rowe, Invasive Species Research Specialist, at jrowe@desertmuseum.org You need to wear appropriate clothing (long pants, sturdy shoes, long sleeves, hat) bring plenty of water. Have you hiked Pima Canyon lately? This beautiful area is a loved hiking spot and important viewscape in the Catalina Mountains. Sadly, buffelgrass is covering much of the area. This invasive grass threatens our treasured saguaros, desert tortoises, and other desert flora and fauna.
