Wilderness Bypass Work Weekend on Butterfly Trail

What better way to spend Labor Day weekend than in the forest at the top of the Santa Catalina mountains? This piece of trail received lots of special attention in 2017 so we want to be sure it stays in great shape moving forward. We’ll hike in and establish a camp at Novio Spring on Saturday. The rest of the day will be working on the trail. Finish up and hike out on Sunday.

Hike to Novio Spring is approximately 2.4 miles and involves a 1,700′ elevation change. We’ll camp near the spring and work the trail mostly between Novio and the Crystal Spring junction.
