Women’s Trail Work Day

Come out an join REI and the Arizona Trail for an all-women’s trail work event on the gorgeous Butterfly trail on the north slope of Mt. Lemmon. This is a great opportunity for those who identify as female to get out and give back on the trail, and demonstrate the power that we bring when we work together!

Work will include heavy brushing to remove overgrowth from seasonal rains and re-benching trailtread where the backslope has shifted down the mountain. Participants will be hiking between 3 and 4 miles in addition to the trail work, with a steep climb out. It’s a rugged day, but we’ll take our time and make it fun, too.

We’ll provide instruction, tools, lunch and snacks – you bring your capable hands and a desire to work hard. We will be working out in the sun so proper skin and sun protection (long pants/sleeves, sunscreen) is essential. Sturdy, closed toe shoes (such as hiking boots) are required. Water not available on site. Participants should bring at least 2 liters in a backpack or bladder.
