Second Saturday Buffelgrass Pull
November 10, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
FreeCome join Saguaro National Park help protect our Sonoran Desert by removing buffelgrass, an invasive species that crowds out native plants and creates a major fire hazard. Meet at the Rincon Mountain District Visitor Center (3693 S. Old Spanish Trail, Tucson). Saturday, November 10th, 8:00 am.
Please follow signs to park in the gravel lot, then walk to the front of the visitor center where we will gather. You will be working off trail removing buffelgrass and accompanied by Park staff. Tools and gloves will be provided. The event will end at about 12:00 pm.
Participants should come prepared for the weather, with long pants, close-toed shoes (hiking boots suggested), a hat, eye protection, sun protection, plenty of water (at least 2 liters), and a snack. Those who are not sufficiently prepared may be turned away. Expect up to a 20 minute hike to the work site over moderately challenging terrain.
Looking forward to seeing you at the park!
