Buffelgrass Removal on 50 Year Trail

March 7, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us in celebrating the successful conclusion to Beat Back Buffelgrass/ Save Our Saguaros Month! We will celebrate by…. you guessed it- digging up invasive buffelgrass with the help of local REI staff! We have a large patch up the 50 Year Trail that needs a big, enthusiastic, and fierce group to conquer it. This patch has an amazing number of mature saguaros that will not survive the scourge of buffelgrass without your help.

Where: Equestrian Center parking lot (park on left side by horse corrals, meet at picnic tables
What: Dig Buffelgrass along the 50 Year Trail. Hike 1.25 miles. Site is off trail.
Wear: Sturdy shoes, long pants, hats, sunscreen
Bring: 2 liters of water, snacks
Extra: We supply gloves and tools. Win a baby saguaro in our raffle! Get stickers! You get into the park for free! Meet local REI staff.

If you plan to attend, sign up on the Desert Museum web site (https://desertmuseum.org/buffelgrass/pullsitelist.php). That way I know how many tools to bring.
