Catalina State Park Buffelgrass Removal
April 1 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Come out and have fun volunteering amongst the spring wildflowers and giant saguaros. Removing buffelgrass reduces the fire danger around saguaros and palo verde nurse trees. Clearing the grass makes way for wildflowers and native grasses and shrubs important for wildlife. We can help protect the Sonoran Desert from the worst effects of climate change.
We will hike approximately 20 minutes and work on a slope near a picturesque wash.
Wear work/hiking clothes such as sturdy shoes/boots, long pants, and lightweight long sleeves. Bring sun protection and 2 liters of water, and snacks.
We supply tools and work gloves and instruction.
Win a baby saguaro in our raffle.
