Hooray for Herps!
June 16, 2019 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
FreeCochise County has lots of critters that creep, crawl, or slither, including reptiles like lizards, snakes, and Gila monsters, to name just a few. Come and learn more about some of our reptile neighbors at Carr House on June 16. The program will start at 1:30 p.m.
Tom Miscione, herpetologist, will help us learn not to fear these important members of the local eco-system. His many live specimens will let you get up close and personal with a diverse number of snakes and lizards. Always popular, be sure to come early!
In fact, this program is so popular that the parking lot fills up fast. Why not park in the Perimeter Trail parking area and take an easy, one mile round trip hike up to the house? You’ll want to allow extra time to explore the ruins in the meadow below Carr House. If you’re hiking, remember to bring plenty of water, use sunscreen, and wear good walking or hiking shoes.
For safety reasons occupancy in Carr House is limited to 49 people. In the past, the audiences for some popular programs have exceeded that number. Please arrive early to be sure you get a seat, as additional visitors over the limit will not be admitted while the program is going on. Overflow guests will be invited to watch a live stream of the program at our outside picnic area.
Carr House is located on Carr Canyon Road, 2.1 miles from the intersection of Highway 92 at the Mesquite Tree Restaurant.
