Oak Tree Canyon Trailhead Development
November 10, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
Oak Tree Canyon Trailhead – one of the closest access points to the Nogales Ranger District, Passage 5 and 6 – will soon be a reality, but we can’t do it without your help!
The Coronado National Forest will have completed grading, gravel, and compaction prior to our arrival.
The first day will be material delivery and site prep for fence, gate and kiosk installation. We will help unload materials, spread them around the site in preparation for the following week’s projects, and begin to clear the area for kiosk installation and maybe even some initial trail work for the connector from the trailhead to the existing dirt road access. Day 2, 3 & 4 will involve installation of two steel gates, a three-panel kiosk, and fence posts. We’ll have water, a power hauler, concrete and supplies.
We’ll meet just off of Highway 83 and FS1072, 15.3 miles south of the I-10 junction. Look forward to seeing you there!
