Oracle Ridge on the Arizona Trail

May 11, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

Free

The Arizona Trail on Oracle Ridge is among one of the most used passages of the whole 800 mile trail, but it’s also among the most challenging to keep in good shape. A history of wildfires combined with a very old trail have created conditions that require lots of constant work to maintain. The payoff, though, is spectacular scenery and that cool mountain air we all love! We will be hiking in approximately a mile and a half to an area of steep loose fall-line trail that needs some rock work and stabilization. Volunteers will be widening corridor and doing minor tread work along the way. Lunch will be provided.

Thanks to Summit Hut and Tucson Backpackers, co-stewards for segment 12a, for hosting this fun day of trailwork near the summit of Mt. Lemmon!
